The number of fatalities from a landslide that occurred in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing last week has increased to 11. Reports from Chinese state media indicate that there are still 50 individuals unaccounted for and 10 people have sustained injuries, as of Thursday.
Recovery teams are actively engaged in efforts to locate the bodies of those who are still missing, according to the state-operated Xinhua news agency.
The death toll from the mountainside collapse that took place on July 17 was previously reported to be eight.
